Privacy policy
GoChamie builds and operates its own communication systems. We collect the minimum data needed to run them safely and to help our members find real connection. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, how we protect it, and the choices and legal rights you have. It applies to gochamie.com and to every brand operated by GoChamie, Inc.
Who we are and scope
GoChamie, Inc. is a corporation incorporated in the State of Florida and headquartered in Orlando, Florida. For the personal data described in this policy, GoChamie is the data controller (and, under US state privacy laws, the business). This policy covers our websites, applications, and the brands we operate, and it applies to members, visitors, and prospective members. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we do not control. You can reach our privacy team at privacy@gochamie.com or by mail at GoChamie, Inc., 20 North Orange Avenue, Suite 1100, 11th Floor, Orlando, FL 32801, United States.
Definitions
Personal data (or personal information) means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to an identified or identifiable individual. Sensitive personal information includes categories such as precise geolocation, government identifiers, account credentials, and information about a person's sex life or sexual orientation, as defined by applicable law. Processing means any operation performed on personal data. Subprocessor means a vendor we engage to process personal data on our behalf. Member means an adult who has created an account on one of our brands.
Information we collect
We collect account data you give us when you sign up, such as your name, email address, phone number, and date of birth. We collect the profile content, photos, audio, video, and messages you create on our brands. We collect device and usage data, including IP address, device and browser identifiers, operating system, crash logs, and how you interact with the service. We collect coarse and, with your permission, precise location to provide relevant matches and to detect fraud. We collect identity and age verification signals where required, which may include a government identification document and a selfie processed by our verification partners. We collect customer support communications. Payment details are handled by our PCI DSS compliant payment partners, and we store payment tokens rather than full card numbers.
Sources of information
We collect information directly from you, automatically through your use of the service, from our service providers (for example identity verification, fraud prevention, and analytics vendors), and from other members or third parties who report conduct or interact with you on the brand. Where the law requires it, we tell you when information is collected from a source other than you.
How we use information
We use your information to create and operate your account, to secure our brands, to match members and personalize the experience, to verify age and identity, to process payments, to prevent and investigate fraud and abuse, to provide customer support, to send service and (where permitted) marketing communications, to conduct research and analytics, to enforce our terms and policies, and to comply with our legal obligations. We may use de-identified or aggregated data, which is not subject to this policy, to improve and develop the service.
Sensitive information and inferences
Because we operate relationship and dating brands, some of the information you choose to share may reveal or imply sensitive characteristics, including sexual orientation. We process this information to provide the core service you request and, where the law requires it, only with your consent. You control what you choose to disclose in your profile and messages.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or a similar law applies to you, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective service, your consent, the protection of vital interests, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis we rely on, without affecting processing already carried out.
How we share information
We share personal data with vetted service providers (our subprocessors) who act on our documented instructions under contract, for example hosting, payments, identity and age verification, communications delivery, analytics, and trust-and-safety tooling. We may share information with other members as part of the normal operation of the service, for example your public profile. We may disclose information to law enforcement, courts, or other authorities when legally required or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, to enforce our terms, to protect our members or the public, or to detect, prevent, or respond to fraud, safety, or security issues. We may transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Trust, safety, and law enforcement
To keep members safe, we may collect, review, retain, and disclose data to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, harassment, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and child sexual abuse and exploitation. Where we identify apparent child sexual abuse material, we report it to the CyberTipline of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and preserve related records as required by US law, including 18 U.S.C. 2258A, and we cooperate with law enforcement. See our Child safety standards and our Anti-trafficking and anti-exploitation statement.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our partners use cookies, software development kits, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the service, remember your settings, measure performance, and, where permitted, support marketing. You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings and, where available, through our in-product preference controls. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, where the law requires it.
Marketing communications
We may send you service messages that you cannot opt out of while you have an account, and promotional messages that you can opt out of at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions or adjusting your settings. Where the law requires opt-in consent for marketing, we obtain it before sending.
Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, safety, security, and dispute-resolution needs, after which we delete or de-identify it. Safety-related records, including records of banned accounts, reported abuse, and reports made to authorities, may be retained for longer where the law requires it or where retention is necessary to protect our members or to cooperate with investigations.
Security
We encrypt personal data in transit and at rest, enforce least-privilege access, log access to sensitive systems, and monitor our environment continuously. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data in line with the controls described on our Security page. If we experience a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to know what we collect and how we use and disclose it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, to opt out of certain profiling, and to appeal a decision about your request. You can exercise these rights by writing to privacy@gochamie.com or using our in-product tools. We verify your identity before responding, respond within the time the law allows (generally 30 to 45 days), and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.
US state privacy rights
If you are a resident of California, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), including your rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have comparable rights, and you may appeal a denied request as that law provides. A description of categories of personal information collected, used, and disclosed in the prior 12 months is set out above.
Notice of financial incentive and Do Not Track
We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information. Some browsers transmit Do Not Track signals; because there is no common industry standard, we respond to recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control rather than to generic Do Not Track headers.
Children
Our brands are strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and we do not direct the service to children. If we learn that a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal data, we remove the account and delete the data. See our Child safety standards and Age verification commitments for more detail.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and process data here and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or other regions, we use appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or an equivalent mechanism, and we make these available on request.
Changes and contact
We will post any changes to this policy with an updated effective date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where the law requires it. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, write to privacy@gochamie.com or GoChamie, Inc., 20 North Orange Avenue, Suite 1100, 11th Floor, Orlando, FL 32801, United States.
